Job Description

Landi English enables teachers to work from the comfort of their homes while teaching English to Chinese students.

Landi English provides one-on-one and one-on-two classes that pay up to $18 USD an hour. They hire teachers from across the globe.

This is a suitable company for both new and experienced teachers. Landi has its own teaching platform and provides all the lesson materials for the teacher.

Landi promises a 90% booking rate and requires teachers to work at least 3 hours per day, 6 days per week. They are currently looking for U.S. and Canadian teachers.

Requirements

  • They are currently looking for U.S. and Canadian teachers
  • Bachelors degree or above
  • No teaching experience required
  • A teaching certificate is not required for the interview
  • Creative and energetic teachers with excellent communication skills
  • A quiet, bright, and clean teaching environment

You can work from anywhere so long as you have a good internet connection.

A bachelor’s degree is required to teach at Landi. Unfortunately, Landi does not accept undergraduates.

While a teaching certificate is not required for the interview, it is requested before you start the job.

If you are considering getting a teaching job, it is a good idea to get certified first. This may give your starting salary a boost because you have more qualifications and you can say this in your interview. Check out the TESOL certificate online.

If you want a more in-depth course or think teaching is a long-term career for you, you can learn a lot of information from a government-regulated course. See our TEFL Academy Review, a high-quality course suitable for teachers who want to teach abroad or online.

Technical Requirements

  • Laptop or desktop computer with Google Chrome (preferred)
  • Webcam
  • Headset
  • Stable internet connection with at least 3 Mbps download speed and 3 Mbps upload speed (wired DSL preferred).
  • You can do an internet speed test here.

Landi requires a USB headset, so make sure that you can plug it into the USB port of your device.

Pay

Teachers can earn up to $18 per hour. Teachers earn $13-$15 USD for one-on-two classes with a $2 bonus.

The starting rate depends on the teacher’s demo lesson and ESL teaching experience.

Landi acknowledges they are not the highest-paying company in the industry; however, they feel that their high-booking rate (over 90%) is more reliable than others.

Teaching Hours

  • 6pm-9pm Beijing Time
  • 6 days per week

Landi expects teachers to work eighteen hours per week from 6 pm- 9pm. This means that teachers must work a minimum of eighteen hours per week from Sunday to Friday.

The schedule is fixed as teachers will have the same students every week. This helps teachers develop relationships with their students.

Booking Rate

The booking rate at Landi is at least 90%. This means that 90% of all the slots the teacher opens are booked. This provides a more predictable income for the teacher.

Students are children between the ages of four to twelve years. Classes are one-on-one or one-on-two.

Timezone

The timezone is Beijing Time, which means that U.S. and Canadian teachers will be working in the early morning.

6pm to 9pm Beijing Time is UTC+8. If you want to see what time this is for you, check the time converter for more details.

Curriculum

Teachers do not need to prepare any lesson materials! Just show up and teach.

Landi works with Oxford University Press to develop a high-quality curriculum suitable for young learners.

Hi Landi, I applied for online teaching early in 2020 and my application was not successful. In the meantime I have been living and working in Shenzhen China, working as a K3 homeroom teacher and have more than a year of classroom experience.
When I try to reapply on your site I am unable to do so.

Please can you adivse?

Many thanks,
Alex
