  • Highly-accredited and government-regulated courses
  • Online and in-person courses
  • Internationally recognized
  • Over 54,000 graduates
  • Excellent reviews from verified sites
  • Equivalent to the CELTA but a fraction of the cost

  • Doesn’t guarantee job placements

If you want to learn more about Premier TEFL, see our full review.

If you can afford it, get their level-5 Ofqual course.

This course is the same level as a foundation degree and will give you a more competitive edge, especially when applying for your first TEFL job.

A 168-hour course is more than enough, as a 120-hour TEFL certificate is a minimum requirement for most jobs.

Lastly, if you can get the teaching practice, that would be even better. The teaching practice helps TEFL graduates feel fully prepared entering their first job, but it is optional.

When applying for your first TEFL job:

  • Mention any coaching or mentoring experience you have
  • If you are applying for a school, mention the experience you have with children, for example, babysitting
  • Make sure the employer is reputable
  • Read your job contract carefully before accepting a job position
  • Be open-minded and willing to learn some of the local language
  • Over plan your lessons in case you run out of lesson material in class
  • Be punctual and consistent

  • Go to class unprepared
  • Give TEFL employers money before you arrive in the country (they usually don’t ask for this)
  • Be afraid to experience a new place

In Conclusion

Premier TEFL is a legitimate TEFL course provider that will help you get teaching ESL online or abroad. Their courses are accredited, and they have received a positive response from the TEFL community.

I want to wish you the very best of luck with your TEFL course!

Teaching is such a fulfilling career, and TEFL opens up some amazing opportunities for dedicated teachers.
